D. James (Jim) Ballard, PT, DPT

Jim has been a faculty member in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at the University of Utah since 2004. He graduated from this program in 1994.

Jim is a clinical assistant professor and teaches courses on men’s and women’s pelvic health, geriatrics, and vestibular rehabilitation in the physical therapy curriculum.

Jim is the clinical director of the University Balance and Mobility Clinic. He is a board-certified clinical specialist in women’s health and geriatric physical therapy.

His chief clinical interests are female and male pelvic health dysfunction, movement disorders (including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia), balance and vestibular disorders. He is a member of the Deep Brain Stimulation and Focused Ultrasound Team at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center.

Away from work, Jim loves spending time with his family and taking photographs at sporting events.
